My STORY

Life is not a straight path. Instead, it is a road full of twists, turns, and detours. You often are led to places that are unexpected. I am no exception.

After 20 years in the United States Air Force (USAF), I found myself looking for employment. The pressure was intense. My wife and I had seen countless success stories of other veterans managing to easily find civilian employment, or so we thought. I was fortunate enough to be given resources, along with coworkers, mentors, and supporters, who all rooted for me.

After four stressful months and about 50 job applications later, I stepped into my first job.

It wasn't without a mental toll. My anxiety had peaked in that period and never seemed to go away. Even more mind-boggling, for the first time in my life, I experienced severe sleep insomnia.

Like many veterans, I was not prepared for the civilian workforce. I had to learn through years of trial and error.

Over time, the anxiety and resulting sleep issues were mitigated, thank God.

This is what many other transitioning veterans go through. Usually, silently, with no one there to "show them the ropes."

Over the years, other vets shared stories that were shockingly similar to mine.

Through that experience, I made the decision to take my experience and use it for something positive - to help others like me. To show them that they are not alone. To guide them through uncertain times, when they are most vulnerable.

I decided to unapologetically delve into veteran advocacy.

I hope to help as many veterans as I can - not only as they step out of the uniform and into civilian life, but also as they enter a new environment full of unseen but powerful rules, pitfalls, and even opportunities.

Department of Labor Contract Facilitator | Serco North America | Edwards AFB (July 2025 to present)

Provided academic and career advising to over 400 transitioning service members and veterans, including advising on GI Bill education benefits, degree pathways, licensure requirements, and long-term career planning. Documented advising outcomes and ensured compliance with federal education and workforce regulations. Supported policy-aligned workforce transition initiatives by advising on federal education regulations, licensure pathways, and compliance requirements affecting service members and veterans.

Accomplishments

Over 400 Service Members prepared for civilian employment in over six locations

Media Specialist | Valiant | USAG Humphreys (July 2024 to July 2025) (Part-Time On Call)

Pivoted to part-time role while continuing with the same strategic leadership responsibilities, strategic guidance, and advisement role as Senior Media Coordinator.

Accomplishments

Forged new strategic alliance with external agency. Produced new media product. Increased visibility to a 20,000-member training audience.

Senior Media Coordinator | Valiant | USAG Humphreys (July 2023 to July 2024)

Led and managed public-facing training and communications initiatives supporting large-scale, policy-driven military and interagency programs. Supervised a cross-functional team of six. Collaborated closely with senior leadership, including a retired three-star General, to ensure the efficacy of scripts. Supported policy-aligned messaging and public information efforts for senior military and interagency stakeholders.

Developed and implemented new script approval process. Garnered approval from key stakeholders resulting in script approval time decreased by 50%

Senior Air Operations Planner | Booz Allen Hamilton | USAG Humphreys (Aug 2022 to July 2023)

Led daily operations in strategic planning and execution of large-scale military exercises in accordance with policies and regulations from South Korea, the US, and US Forces Korea (USFK). Acted as a liaison across multiple branches of the military. Used learning platforms and digital collaboration tools to deliver structured training and assess learner comprehension and performance. Created and maintained alliance with key stakeholders in external organizations. Interpreted and operationalized U.S. and host-nation policies and regulations, coordinating across agencies to ensure compliance and effective execution.

Negotiated and executed high-visibility, combined training, reviving a decades-old, allied collaboration. Efforts lauded by senior leadership, resulting in an award.

Senior Content Specialist | Booz Allen Hamilton | Yongsan Garrison (Sep 2019 to Aug 2022)

Knowledge Manager – Acted as site manager, maintaining unit websites across three systems. Enforced Information Security policy standards. Maintained client digital and physical records and files. Ensured records were properly maintained for government audit. Regularly reviewed and updated User Interface to maximize User Experience.

Developed a custom database/repository, sorting and organizing thousands executive level documentation, resulting in quicker access times, and enhanced searchability for joint service, multinational staff.

United States Air Force (Sep 1999 to Aug 2019) - Language Analyst | Aerospace Mechanic

Accomplishments

Oversaw the organization's 250 million critical software update. Quality-checked software effectiveness in real-world conditions. Consolidated data and authored an executive-level after-action report for key stakeholders, resulting in contractual compliance and acceptance.
